Home Buyer’s Tip – Have the Septic System Inspected

Home Buyer’s Tip – Have the Septic System Inspected

The septic system, is of course, one of the most important parts of a home. After all, when a city is first built, the sewer is the first thing planned… Always, and I mean always have the septic system fully inspected before buying a home. I did so before buying mine, because I knew the history of the neighborhood. Fortunately, my home was built in 1989, and PVC pipes were used. My mother’s home, on the other hand, was built in the sixties. Nine years ago, problems became obvious, and her bleeder field was replaced by a fine man she had as a student years ago. One of the symptoms was a strong sewer smell when it rained. The grass was also much greener and thicker anywhere the septic was coming to the surface. Upon excavation, collapsed cast iron pipe,...

Child Abuse and Neglect

Child Abuse and Neglect

I would like to take a moment to support this fine man’s effort in helping to support the victims of child abuse. He’s a man on a mission, my first friend, and very much like a brother to me. He and his daughter are once again participating in the CASA Superhero Run. Child abuse is an issue I feel very strongly about. I have already donated, but if no one else does, I’m going to make sure he reaches his goal of raising $300.00 for this cause. You can find his fundraising page at http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/BrianHerald/casa-superhero-run-2016. More information about this cause is also available....

The Stumbling Block – August 14, 2016 – Gregory B. Whaley

The Stumbling Block – August 14, 2016 – Gregory B. Whaley

It is just as I said in my first piece of testimony, my brothers and sisters. Satan is self defeating. Be confident in this, and go on spreading the word. 🙂 I think it must really tick him off… 😉     Command and teach these things. Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if...

For All My Fellow Caregivers – Testimony

For All My Fellow Caregivers – Testimony

On April 4, 2016, my mother arrived home from rehabilitation. She had fallen while walking out of a doctor’s office on March 9. According to the emergency room doctor, her hip had shattered. Even though she was still not able to stand and walk, I continued to keep my promise to her that I would care for her throughout all the stages of Alzheimer’s. Since that time, I feel as though I’ve been attacked by quite a few of Satan’s schemes. I believe we all know, or at least we should know, Satan uses people when he can. The first thing that happened was her hospital bed was not delivered the day she arrived home, as was promised and reassured. She had developed two bed sores under a nursing facility’s care. I ended up purchasing a...

The Holy Bible’s Instructions – One of Many

The Holy Bible’s Instructions – One of Many

Due to a a recent experience, I would once again like to point out scripture. This is what we as Christians are instructed to do when dealing with our brothers and sisters in Christ. “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.” –Matthew 18:15-17 I have been doing just as Christ Himself instructs… I also feel that some should strongly consider...

Nuclear Weapons

Nuclear Weapons

In 1945, Robert R. Wilson spoke these words… “A specter is haunting this country–the specter of nuclear energy. As a scientist who worked on the atomic bomb, I am appalled that the public is so apathetic and so uninformed about the dangerous social consequences of our development. There is no secret of the atomic bomb. In my opinion, in two to five years other countries can also manufacture bombs, and bombs tens, hundreds, or even thousands of times more effective than those which produced such devastation at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This country with its concentrated industrial centers is entirely vulnerable to such weapons; nor can we count on, or even expect, effective counter-measures. Unless strong action is taken within the near future...
